Rene Tierney

René Tierney received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in 2011, majoring in Business Law and minoring in Accounting. He attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and graduated in 2016 with a Juris Doctorate. While in law school René served as the Substance and Citation editor for the Loyola Maritime Law Journal.  He also wrote a Comment on whether vessel owners should be entitled to restitution of fraudulently obtained maintenance and cure benefits, which was published in the fall 2014 edition.

Prior to joining Duncan & Sevin, L.L.C., René worked as a law clerk for a plaintiff’s maritime and personal injury firm, where he assisted with legal research on a variety of matters. He also helped over 300 clients with their BP Oil Spill settlement claims.

René is a native of New Orleans and enjoys watching New Orleans Saints and Pelicans games, playing basketball, and travelling.
